BNI Black Tie Charity Evening

by BNI New Zealand

More than $12,000 worth of items on offer at the BNI Black Tie Charity Evening on Saturday the 28th of September

A huge range of businesses have donated to the event being held at Wigram Airbase with all of the proceeds going to the Nurse Maude Hospice in Christchurch

BNI chapters (Business Network International) around Christchurch are gearing up for a massive night on Saturday the 28th of September as they prepare to host a Black Tie Charity Evening at Wigram Airbase. More than $12,000 worth of items have been donated by a range of businesses from the Hilton to Lighting Plus with all the proceeds going to the Nurse Maude Hospice in Christchurch.

The Nurse Maude Hospice provides specialist hospice palliative care and support free of charge to patients and their families across the greater Canterbury region. Thousands of hours every year go into providing professional and compassionate end of life care.

Alison Poulter, one of the Regional Directors for BNI New Zealand in Christchurch, is excited about the upcoming event. “So many different organisations have come to the party with great donations for our auction,” she says. “It’s the cherry on top of what’s going to be a fantastic night of entertainment.”

Guests to the event will have the opportunity to bid on an enormous list of goods and services. “Some of the donations have been very generous,” says Alison, “from all sorts of businesses. There’s a fabulous weekend driving the world’s most popular convertible, vouchers for a range of goods and a two night stay for two people including breakfast at the Hilton Queenstown on the shores of Lake Wakatipu.”

All of the money raised at the charity event goes to Nurse Maude Hospice. Sue Bramwell, the General Manager of Marketing at Nurse Maude, says the donations raised by BNI add considerably to the organisation’s other fundraising efforts and make a significant difference to patients and their families.

“BNI has always been a great supporter of the Nurse Maude Hospice,” says Sue. “With more than $1 million to raise each year from the community, BNI’s fundraising is a very important part of this. Its support and the generosity of the community has always been a critical part of our work at the Hospice. Saturday night is going to be everyone’s chance to cut loose, have a wonderful evening, bid generously come auction time and give a little back to the Nurse Maude Hospice which has, and always will, continue to care for the people of Canterbury.”

Tickets are just $110 and include canapés and beverages; they can be purchased online at http://www.bnidance.co.nz/. There’s a Facebook page for the event that outlines the many different auction lots (https://www.facebook.com/BNIBlackTieCharityEvening).
