Situations Vacant

by BNI New Zealand

It’s already nearly mid-February and, as usual with the summer Leadership Term, the Leadership Team change over on April 1 will be on us before we know it.

Every 6 months we have a Networking Education Moment or Networking Nugget about “why you should be on the leadership team” about 6 weeks out from changeover to help the chapters encourage members to accept roles on the incoming team.

So, this week is the ideal time to present on this subject.

I’ve reviewed the last 3 nuggets we’ve done on the subject, not least because I was presenting on the topic to a pre-launch group, and I realised all three nuggets were quite defensive in their tone when, in fact, being on the Leadership Team is a wonderful opportunity very few regret taking up.

So, this time, this nugget makes no apologies in being relentlessly upbeat and positive about joining the upcoming Leadership Team and that if you are asked to participate, the answer should be “yes, of course, what do you want me to do?” When preparing for this nugget it would be great to involve past leadership team members to get them to attest to how they personally benefited from being on the leadership team. If you decide to ask a past LT member or two for a testimonial, give them the heads up beforehand so you know you will get the response you are looking for!

We are looking for inspiring individuals who can work in a team to take this chapter to the next level. Start Date April 1st 2020

No need to apply!

Right now, the current leadership team, in conjunction with your chapter BNI Director Consultant, are working on who they think could be a valued member of the next leadership team.

So, if you are lucky enough to get a tap on the shoulder, they think you are the right person for a role to help the chapter succeed. If you are asked to participate, the answer should be “yes, of course, what do you want me to do?”

However, if you are keen to be a part of the LT and to make a difference, let your current President know. But remember, available positions are limited so don’t be disappointed if you miss out, there will be another Leadership Team needed in 6 months.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITY:

This is a great time to ask past LT members to speak up about the benefits and enjoyment they had in the past from being on the LT.

FAQ’s:

•Not all the current Leadership Team members/positions have to change. In fact, it’s a good idea to keep some experience in the team.
•There is Leadership Team training coming up both face to face and online. •There is a comprehensive Leadership Team manual.
•The next Leadership term is from April 1 to September 30.
