Business Networking Statistics – What’s Your APPetite?

by Richard Foulkes

Technology is a Beautiful Thing

Those of us “mature enough” to remember Vinyl, 8-Tracks, Cassettes, CDs, DVDs, USBs, Radios, Walkmans, Ipods etc. as ways of playing music, are laughed at by today’s mostly Spotify users. Playing the music, you want when you want, has gotten a whole lot easier.

Technology is such an ever-changing but intrinsic part of our lives that make our lives easier and more productive. Horse and Buggy anyone?

When such technology is available to us and we don’t use it, what happens? We get left behind and may become thought of as old fashioned or get “left behind” by the rest of the world.

As businesspeople we must constantly be aware of new technology and evaluate what is useful to us to make our lives (and our customers’) easier and more productive.

Please Get Out Your Phone!

Yes, really! In the meeting. One piece of technology is pretty much ubiquitous. Our phones are our constant companions.

People touch their smartphone over 2,600 times a day, research shows.

In the past, in BNI we recorded our BNI activity via paper slips. The Vice President collated these and entered them into the weekly PALMS reporting for you, it was unwieldy and time consuming.

Now we can record our BNI activity at anytime and not only save the Vice President a lot of trouble but we can easily carry out and see a range of other useful BNI related activities.

Today, we are going to look at just one of those features in the BNI App.

So if you open up your BNI App, we can experience this feature for ourselves, rather than just me telling you about it.

If you can’t access the BNI App, please raise your hand*** so you can watch on someone else’s phone.

***Note who these members are so they can be helped later, don’t try and help them now or it will drag out the education and make it about their technology issues.

NEXT MEETING – MEETING SUMMARY

At the top of the screen, there is a NEXT MEETING box. Clicking the eye shaped symbol allows you to view more information about the meeting like:

1.The Online Meeting Link for permanent online chapters, emergencies or leadership team meetings.

2.How much TYFCB has been entered in total by the Chapter Members since the last meeting.

3.Who the Featured Presenter is this week.

4.Who the registered visitors are.

THIS WEEKS SLIP’S – MEETING SLIPS

The next box is called THIS WEEK’S SLIPS where you can easily add your weekly activity stats by clicking on the plus signs along side the items including: Thank You for Closed Business (TYFCB), Referrals, CEUs (Continuing Education Units) and One-to-Ones.

Here you can also click one of two options:

1.The eye shaped symbol allowing you to see the activities you have completed during the week which is helpful during the referrals and testimonials section of the meeting.

2.You can also use the Print button to print this information so you can bring it along to read out from paper during the meeting if needed.
