Whether you are a long time BNI member or a new one – be different.
When was the last time you decided to be one of the first members at your meeting location and made an effort to say good morning to every member once they are in the door rather than spending the first few minutes scouting out your caffeine fix?
When was the last time you planned out a 60-second that was different, inspiring or completely off the wall?
When was the last time you walked around the room or stood on a chair while doing your 60-seconds, ensuring everyone watched you as you spoke. Make an impact. Be different.
When was the last time you created a thrilling or interactive 10-minute presentation that kept people talking about you and your business after the meeting, and the days following too.
Recently, I watched a mortgage broker present a great 10-minutes. It was full of statistics, information and more, something that could typically bore you. Instead it was proactive and fun, he turned it into a fun competition for a bag filled to the brim with chocolate. And weeks later, I can still remember each of the facts and information, even though I didn’t win the bag of chocolate. He took the time to be different.
BNI is an investment for your business; take the time to plan, to think ahead, to create an impact so your fellow chapter members are armed with the right information about you to bring you successful and qualified referrals. Be proactive, be different.
