There are many reasons:
- The problem appears too hard to fix – and it may not be able to be fixed. Think of the time and money I would waste if I gave it a go and it didn’t work.
- I don’t know where to start.
- I don’t have time. I don’t have the time to seek answers, implement them and then practice them.
- I don’t know how to do it. What if I mess up and get it wrong?
What if learning gave you near instant results and was fun? Would this be worth investigating? Most of my clients receive useable help within the consultation hour. In the second session, as well as learning new strategies, we revise what has been learnt and reinforce the changes that have been made. This provides repetition which will serve the client longer. Many report back that they have continued to practice their new skills with great results. Others come back six months or longer after their last consultation and say they can’t remember what we covered – which is why they are back as their problems often require the same solution they learnt previously.
