Like most BNI Members, I admit I had a good holiday over Christmas and really enjoyed relaxing at the beach. But the problem is that the relaxed attitude can follow you back to work, and BNI. Sometimes it can be hard to get back into the ‘BNI Mindset’, so I decided to plan a BNI Boot Camp for myself to take me through to the end of April and kick start my BNI activity.

Doing
1. Dancing
I am going to to two (hopefully three) dances each week, these are going to be in the ratio of 2 away to one home dance. I think that by visiting other members workplaces my BNI Genes will get fired up and I will become focused.
2. Planning
I have planned my presentations for the next 9 weeks (as detailed in my book ‘Beyond The Comfort Zone’), this has helped me to concentrate on creating a mini re-education plan for my fellow chapter members. The entails two weeks of general recaps about our website design services and then a cycle of six weeks covering core services in more depth (well as much depth as you can squeeze into one minute).
3. Doing
From my plan I am formulating my presentations and props (thank goodness for op shops) to allow me to plan visual memory hooks into the minds of my fellow chapter members.
January and February are disrupted months for all of us with Christmas and the occasional national and regional holidays, so it becomes even more important to remain focused on your BNI Activity. Remember, it is by taking simple steps, one at a time, and regularly, that we cover the distance from where we are to where we plan to be.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for this posting. I was wondering if we could get to see some excerpts from your book on this blog? It would be great to feature you as a regular contributor – and I know that Ivan Misner was impressed with your book.

I have posted the first extract ready for viewing, I will add one per month. Already working on my next book lol.
Good one Tony.
Nice to meet you the other day at Counties BNI.
You are a “Doer”!
