Lessons in Leadership

by BNI New Zealand

I have posted a number of articles on this blog along the topic of leadership.  This video is a great reminder of the key principles of leadership and also posits the idea that leadership itself is over glorified and that it is the nurturing of the first courageous followers that starts the momentum and gives rise to the ‘tipping point’.   It seems to me that this is another way of thinking about Servant Leadership – how can you help others to succeed and in the process create something special and new.  It can also be observed in the video that as the movement gains momentum that it is no longer about the original leader but about the organisation as a whole – the free flowing creativity that comes into being as what has been created is allowed to blossom, evolve and grow – to become all it can be as opposed to trying to get everyone to dance the same dance.

I hope you get the opportunity to watch the short video and that you find it as entertaining as I did:
