Mini Workshop – Infomercials – 001

by Geoff Kirkwood

Instructions:

This is a 2-3 minute activity that involves those at the meeting. You will need to read it through beforehand and be prepared.

What you say out loud to the group is in larger type in bold.

Purpose: To focus members on the purpose of their 60 seconds.

Requirements: – 0.
Workshop:

Start by asking the members…

What is your purpose in presenting your 60-seconds each week?

Field some of the answers and repeat 2 or 3 back to the members.

Then suggest to them that….

Some of the reasons are ….

1.    So that members and visitors know who you are, what you do and where to find you (if relevant)
2.    So that members and visitors know something new about you each week
3.    So that members and visitors know what to look for or what to listen for in a potential referral
4.    So that everyone remembers you and your infomercial long after you have left their company.

Now ask them….So, let me ask you some questions….

1.    Do you tell the group something new about your business every week?
2.    Do they know what a prospect for you will be saying or doing?
3.    Do you have a memory hook that is funny, irreverent, corny or kitsch – or is yours just plain old boring?
4.    If I was to ask every member here this morning to repeat your memory hook, would they be able to do so?
5.    And if they couldn’t, who needs to correct that situation?
Always remember that we only get one chance at a first impression. What impression did all the visitors at your chapter over the last 3 months form about you – particularly those who only attended one meeting?

So let me finish by asking…

Are you clear about your purpose in presenting your 60-seconds each week?************* From The Referral Master® Reblog this post [with Zemanta]

Thanks Geoff,
I look forwards to seeing your weekly articles/workshops appearing on this site – it will be a great resource for BNI chapters in New Zealand and around the world.
Kind Regards,
Graham

Great Workshop material. We will be introducing this at our upcoming MSP Training to encourage members to be well prepared and focussed when they stand up each week.
