Celebrate Hospice Awareness Week this week BNIers with the magic million raised

by BNI New Zealand

Do you know someone that’s been through hospice care?

Hospice is a hugely important organisation. Last year the 29 hospice services throughout the country provided care and support to over 16,000 people living with a life-limiting condition. They also supported these people’s family and whanau.

Did you know that BNI is a national partner to Hospice New Zealand?

We started working with them in 2005 and you have now helped raise over 1 million dollars for hospices around the country. This is an incredible figure and one to be celebrated.

Why Hospice?

There’s a perfect synergy between our two organisations because of their shared common values. Givers Gain is about growing successful businesses within the community they operate in. Hospice is about supporting communities in which people live. Doing good, is good for business. Both of our organisations share values of people connecting with people and developing relationships based on trust.

Next week is Hospice Awareness Week; it runs from 18-24 May.

It’s the perfect opportunity for BNI and Hospice NZ to celebrate their strong and enduring relationship. The week is about raising awareness of hospice services in the community – helping people to understand the ways in which hospice services provide care and support for people with a life-limiting condition.

If you are doing anything for the week or have held an event that is in support of your local hospice – we want to know about it. Drop us an email. We’d love to share information about your event across social media as well as allow that hospice to acknowledge the great work that you’ve done.

Reaching the magic million has been achieved with the support of small businesses right across the country. Congratulations to those who have gone beyond merely networking and have made a real contribution to the community.

Of course, not every chapter has the time or resources to contribute to a hospice. But if you’d like to know more about a hospice in your area, get in touch with us.
