BNI South/East Auckland – Hospice Golf Tournament

by Rosemary Meyer

DSC05291A BNI South/East Auckland Regional fundraising event for Hospice South Auckland was held on Friday 10 September 2010 at the Pukekohe Golf Club.  Registrations commenced from 11am and participants were able to enjoy networking and barbecue prior to tee off at 12.30. Fifty two players in fourteen teams turned out at Pukekohe Golf Club to contest the first ever Hospice South Auckland fundraising golf tournament involving all ten East/South Auckland BNI Chapters who directly support Hospice South Auckland.

DSC05279The organiser Andrew-Bothner-By (BNI Metro President) and BNI South/East Auckland Directors, Paul & Rosemary Meyer, would like to again thank all players for entering and supporting this event.  Andrew was pleased to present Gavin Ring, Funding Development & Marketing Manager of  Hospice South Auckland with $1498 being the final amount raised.DSC05348

Thanks also to our impressive list of prize-sponsors, please support them with your business wherever possible!  Sponsors are listed below.

The event was pitched at golfers with some experience but several novice golfers also turned up to play the magnificent Pukekohe Golf Club in miraculously fine and sunny weather, albeit with a cool breeze.  The course was understandably wet underfoot and the greens were a little slow and bumpy, again due to the prolonged wet weather preceeding the event.  Many thanks to Pukekohe Golf Club for making their course available to us at such short notice.

Andrew intends to run this tournament again late next year, but bigger and better!
