One way to recognise business excellence is through awards. It’s also a fantastic way to see how your business stacks up against the competition. In New Zealand, The David Awards recognise the unsung heroes in home and small businesses throughout the country. They acknowledge people whose tenacity, courage and ingenuity place them firmly at the forefront of entrepreneurship in this country.
A new partnership
We’re excited to announce that BNI NZ has come on board as a partner to The David Awards in 2016. Partnering with The David Awards on this event gives BNI the opportunity to engage with other businesses and align our brand with supporting grass root and start-up businesses in New Zealand.
BNI New Zealand is also sponsoring the “Most Outstanding Established Business Award” category. This is given to a business which has moved beyond the start-up phase and is two or more years old, which has a proven track record and some or all of the plans/people/systems/processes in place to make a long-term or well-above-average future a reality.
We are proud that numerous BNI members have been finalists and winners at The David Awards over the years. 2015’s Supreme Award winner, Heat Pumps NOW, is a BNI member from Christchurch. The organization was also awarded Most Outstanding Fledgling Business and Most Community-Minded Business.
Why enter?
Following last year’s event, entrants were asked what they thought the most important benefits of being named a finalist or winner were. 81% of respondents cited the credibility the business gains as a major benefit of entering. Other benefits included:
- Receiving individual feedback from the judges
- Raising the profile of the business
- The opportunity to think objectively and clarify the mission, goals and direction of the business.
How do I enter?
The entry process for the David Awards is simple and found at www.thedavidawards.co.nz. Entries can be edited right up until the submission deadline (August 12, 2016). There are NO entry fees for these awards and we encourage all BNI members to participate.
