New Plymouth goes for a bit of Vegas and a bit of Bond to raise $14,000 for hospice

BNI Chapters in New Plymouth raised approximately $14,000 for Hospice during a Casino Royale event at the Quality Hotel Plymouth International recently.

BNI First New Plymouth, BNI Success Like No Other and BNI Late For Breakfast chapters — organised by Nathan Mumby from Custom Construction and Fay Haakma from the Hair Resort (both of BNI First New Plymouth chapter) and leaders of BNI Success Like No Other and BNI Late For Breakfast — were behind the James Bond themed fundraiser.

Fay Haakma says the Royal Flush Mobile Casino crew from Palmerston North ran the event.

“They provided high quality tables and great fun staff for the tables. Colin Rose, who runs the team, was great at involving the players and offering a fun environment. Tansi from Tansi productions also had her girls there — in stunning costumes reminiscent of the Las Vagus show girls — to greet new arrivals and usher players to the bank. They also presented prizes during the cash, and funny money auctions at the end of the evening.

“It was great fun and a great way to raise money,” says Fay.

Funds were raised from the sale of tickets and a big percentage from the sale of extra gambling chips.

What a fantastic result! Well done New Plymouth. Do you have any photographs? It would be great to put this into the newsletter.
