Recently appointed Auckland City Fringe BNI Director, Pam Martin, is a serial networker, professional speaker, author, company director and activist who is on a mission to change the way we work in New Zealand
Author of ‘Beneath the Knowledge Wave’ and Director of Positive Connexions computer training company, Pam has met with just about everybody from the Prime Minister and United Nations down as the voice for all people who are struggling with computers and technology in general.
“The majority of the population have taught themselves to use computers, but patchy computer skills result in wasted time trying to solve simple problems.
“Research shows that attaining a certification such as the Internet and Computer Core Certificate or IC3, a global benchmark for key computer skills, saves an average of 30 minutes per person per day – that is around 120 hours per year,” says Pam.
As a result Pam launched the Kiwi Computer Challenge to motivate the whole country to learn and show the world we are digitally capable, and she will network with everyone and anyone to advance the cause.
As a member of BNI for 9 years now, Pam has served on the leadership team of her BNI Parnell Chapter several times and anybody who knows her will speak of her passion for Digital Literacy and networking.
She now shares that knowledge and passion with five BNI chapters in her region – BNI Business People, BNI City Business, BNI Japa (Just Another Positive Aucklander), BNI Mean Business and BNI Rangitoto.
Pam is currently a judge for the annual David Awards – which recognises excellence in home and small business – and was a finalist at the Westpac North Shore Enterprise Business Excellence Awards in the marketing category and also in the Humour in Business Awards.
As a member of Toastmasters and the National Speakers Association she is able to pass on very good speaking and communication skills to her chapter members.
