What an awesome afternoon. Sue & I attended Orakei marae, where Ngati Whatua and dove house/Eastern Bay’s Hospice were putting on a memorial concert for two young ladies of Orakei who passed recently and at the prime of their lives. I had the privilege of having met both of them and it was a real honour to be part of the event.
The concert featured many renowned NZ artists – as well as one of the Commodores! The main kaupapa was to create awareness within Maoridom around organisations like dove house and to inspire all iwi and hapu to join hands with their local hospice and work together on the spiritual side of life.
