Give Each Other Grace
Dr. Ivan Misner the founder of BNI recently recorded a special podcast advising this is a time to give each other grace, to be patient in an impatient world.
He recorded this special episode because BNI is going through changes related to meeting in-person, online, or both. In new Zealand because individual circumstances and feelings on the subject differ, patience and respectful, positive dialogue are critical.
Be Patient
Dr Misner wants to encourage: 1.Members to be patient with each other. 2.Chapters to remain intact for the benefit of each member, and the overall chapter. 3.A time to give each other grace, to be patient in an impatient world.
We’ve Got This
Dr Misner also explains:
Today, more than ever, you need your network. Be there for each other. Work with your local Director to help with solutions that work for your membership.
Each of you have done such a great job throughout 2020 and 2021. You’ve helped each other pass an incredible amount of business.
You’ve saved businesses, supporting families and communities along the way.
Building relationships
Dr Ivan Misner talks about:
Building relationships is one of BNI’s Core Values. We know stronger relationships lead to more referrals, and more fun.
As we begin to emerge from the disruption of the last 18 months, we know many chapters will be making decisions about their format: in-person, online, hybrid.
Communication, compassion, compromise, and collaboration
Dr Misner says that:
Communication, compassion, compromise, and collaboration can make all the difference in this process. Your chapter’s absolute top priority should be to be as inclusive as possible, and to accommodate everyone’s perspective. We are better together. So, your chapter growing with every member is more important than the format in which it meets.
So, keep doing One- to-Ones, keep learning, and most importantly, keep supporting each other and having fun along the way.
In Summary
Give each other grace. Be a beacon of light in a sea of fear. Support each other and work together to find solutions.
