BNI South/East Auckland is ready to “FLASH DANCE”

Have you heard of the “flash mob” phenomenon.  It is a term used to describe a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes pointless act for a brief period of time and then disperse.  They are normally organised via social media or viral e-mails.

Well BNI South/East Auckland Directors Paul & Rosemary Meyer in conjunction with Graham Greenhorn from BNI Howick have decided to organise a “Flash Dance”.  The purpose of the flash dance is to get as many members as possible together in one place at the same time and encourage them to dance with a member, unknown to them, from another chapter.

This event will take place at the Auckland Botanic Gardens, Manurewa on Tuesday 29th March 11am – 11.30am.

You will need to wear your BNI member pin and bring your business card folder and plenty of business cards.  A bucket will also be available for members to made a donation towards the Christchurch Earthquake Funds and the monies collected will be forwarded via BNI NZ’s Red Cross account.

This is a first for the region and we would like to encourage as many members as possible to attend.  We would love to see other BNI members from other regions join us in this fun activity.

How to get to Auckland Botanic Gardens

The Auckland Botanic Gardens is situated right next to the Southern Motorway, on Hill road, Manurewa. Travelling south on the Southern Motorway (SH1) – Take the Manurewa/Hill Road exit after Manukau City. Turn left into Hill Road and the main entrance to the Gardens is the first driveway on the left. If travelling north on the Southern Motorway (towards Auckland on SH1), exit the motorway at the Takanini exit, then turn left onto Great South Road and drive towards Manurewa. Turn right at the lights into Alfriston Road. Follow Alfriston Road then turn left at Claude Road and continue until it connects with Hill Road. Turn right onto Hill Road and drive past the traffic lights, the entrance to the Gardens is 100m further on, on the left.

Sounds like fun! One of our members – David Firth — from the BNI Albany Commercial Chapter recently carried out a flashdance in Auckland. You can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pwh4-KDfwTY

Thanks Colin, we hope to see you there with your dancing shoes on, your BNI membership pin and your business card referral holder and some cash for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal. Have looked at the youtube and it was great. Well done to David Firth.
