If you have teenage children and are looking for ideas for Christmas – you might be interested to know that Brian Falkner – long term BNI member and designer of the BNI NZ website and intranet has released his latest book – The Tomorrow Code. For a chilling video about the book – click here!
Borders has listed it as one of their top books of 2008, and moved it onto the Bestsellers shelves instore – and it is one of the top recommended reads for teens in this weekends Herald where it received the following review:
A time warping thriller in which a lethal fog escapes from a viral research facility in the Bay of Islands, eradicating all human life in its path. Only Rebecca and her friend Tane have any clues about the destruction threatening the world – because they have received coded messages from their future selves. To the paradoxes of time travel, Falkner adds an intriguing twist on biological warfare.
I am in the process of reading it to my daughter – who was delighted to find that one of the characters bears her name – Lucy Southwell. The reason for this – Brian auctioned the rights to the name of a character in the book at last years charity auction run by the Albany Chapter as part of the Hospice fund raiser his chapter held. So she is now world famous in New Zealand!
