When the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, arrived by police boat on the docks of Liverpool’s famous Marina early this morning (8th January) he was taken aback by the enthusiastically friendly greetings of the members of the BNI Mavericks Chapter who meet there.
Mr Brown looked on in amazement when he discovered a group of motivated businesses welcoming him so early in the morning. He was invited in to the chapter meeting where he stayed and networked with members for several minutes.
Mr Brown told the chapter members how refreshing it was to see local businesses getting together to drive their businesses forward. Liz Legge, one of the chapter members from the Roy Castle Foundation, explained to the Prime Minister why the members get up early each week to work on each other’s behalf.
Hopefully we now have a new advocate for BNI in the Prime Minister who could be promoting BNI as a good way to build big and small businesses effectively during an economic downturn.
