The David Awards 2012: there’s still time to enter or finalise your entry

It’s getting exciting here as The David Awards 2012 entry deadline draws near. In just over two weeks’ time, the judging will start.

If you are an entrant:
You can still submit or edit your entry at any time up till 5 p.m. on 17 August. There is NO LATE ENTRY FEE this year. You are welcome to check and polish your entry anytime up till then. And good luck!

If you are a previous entrant:
We welcome another entry from you this year. If you would like to resubmit your 2011 entry, you can view it by clicking the linkfrom the bottom navigation box on the left of the home page (you need to be logged in). Then click to create your 2012 entry, paste in the content and edit as you see fit.

If you tried to submit an entry but had difficulty:
We have made some technical changes to the site so it is more compatible with all browsers and is easier to use. If you are still experiencing difficulty or need some assistance, please contact us as soon as possible. We are here to help.

If you’ve been an entrant or winner and are not going to enter this year:
There’s still time to encourage someone else to do so. We can’t think of a better way to give back to the small business community in New Zealand. We appreciate your support in getting the word out and supporting other businesses in entering The David Awards.

We look forward to another great year for The David Awards. There are always some amazing businesses with incredible stories. Let’s celebrate them! Entries close at 5 p.m. on 17 August and winners are announced on 3 October.

Colin Kennedy

Colin is the Marketing Director of BNI New Zealand, a director of Iron Road Ltd and a professional speaker and copywriter. While this is an outsourced function, Colin manages - at an executive level - all marketing and communication functions for BNI New Zealand. Colin is also the official spokesman for BNI New Zealand, and is responsible for building relationships with media and partners, including Hospice NZ, as well as representing BNI at all public speaking engagements (when BNI receives requests to talk at those functions). The core focus of his business is writing compelling copy for clients. Colin believes that in this era of low trust, social media and word of mouth dominance, a different approach to marketing is needed - one about conversation, relationships, engaging stories, delivering value... "We have to engage the market with compelling 'stories'; we have to influence the people who influence the customer's buying behaviour, we have to join the conversation. "People don't like to be sold to anymore. They like to shop." His business is to develop strategies for clients using compelling messages and stories for websites, email blasts, newsletters, brochures, press releases, articles etc. to increase leads, improve conversion rates and raise profile.
