BNI Christchurch member Corey Williams contacted us recently to express his gratitude for the unexpected consequences he has received from being part of BNI.
Corey, a partner at Swain Woodham Insurance, joined BNI Catalyst in Canterbury 10 years ago looking for referrals and to network and learn from other local business professionals. What he discovered however was that BNI is also an amazing way to boost public speaking abilities as well as to network with other BNI members from around the world. Corey was recently selected to talk at the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table in Austin, Texas, the first time someone from New Zealand has been selected to talk.
“The 60 seconds and 10-minute presentations along with the preparation, practice, feedback from other members and getting really specific about a message really boosted my ability to talk in public, and the support I have received from fellow members has been truly humbling”.
With a background in high performance sport, continuous improvement is Corey’s hallmark. He was part of a cycling team that went on to win multiple Olympic medals and world championships. Whilst in Texas he met many other BNI members from around the world which has been an added bonus and demonstrates that BNI is not just limited to the network in NZ.
