Right on Jasbindar.

Leadership is always tested in times of adversity.

I'm currently reading Ordeal By Sea, The New Zealand Shipping Company's History of the Second World War when many a ship was lost often at high human cost.

A sinking ship is a great time to test Leadership!

Look forward to your further postings.

Keep smiling :)

Great Article Jasbinar

As I have watched Tony Hayward over the last few weeks, and even as I read your post, it is clear that he is not a Level 5 leader as defined by Jim Collins in Good to Great. A Level 5 leader is defined by fierce determination and personal humility.

I'm not sure he can be authentic, because his reputation is on the line, and I don't think he shows any real determination to fix the problem (albeit that it is a massive problem to fix)

Great writing!

Thanks for this Jasbindar - I hear your message and fully embrace what you are saying. I have written about the idea of Servant Leadership on here before - whereby the role of the leader is to find ways to support and serve those in the organisation as opposed to seeking to gain control and to keep everyone in check.
Many thanks for contributing to this site and I look forwards to reading more of your posts on here in the future.

Kind Regards,
Graham
