I totally agree with you on this. My belief is that we all need to align ourselves with some form of organisation – be it hospice or something else – and to start to get involved. The old ways of making a donation or perhaps putting money in the Sunday collection no longer cuts it. Sue & I attended a very moving Mothers Day service at the West Auckland Hospice on Sunday – and are due to have a visit and look around the Hospice on Thursday. On Friday we will be shaking the collection tin in Titirangi Village for a couple of hours. Thanks for your suggestions and for posting them to the site.

Your local hospice will have hundreds of roles of volunteers – just contact them to see how you can help.

If you can’t make a regular commitment to time – we all have businesses to run don’t we? – many hospices run one off events which need help just for a day. It might be to help with car parking or with the set up and break down of an event.

How about your whole BNI group volunteering to take one of these roles on for the day?
